Caprese Skewers with Balsamic Glaze
Ingredients
Caprese's
- Cherry Tomatoes
- Fresh Mozzarella Balls
- Fresh Basil Leaves
- 6 " bamboo skewers
Balsamic Glaze
- 2 cups balsamic vinegar
- 2 Tbs sugar
- pinch of sea salt
- 1 tsp dried oregano
Instructions
To make the balsamic glaze
- In a small pot over medium heat; bring vinegar, sugar, salt and oregano to a simmer. Reduce heat to med./low and continue to gently simmer for approximately 15-20 minutes or until glaze decreases by half and becomes a syrup consistency. Whisk occasionally while cooking. Transfer glaze to a container to cool and refrigerate. This will yield 1 cup of glaze.
To assemble caprese skewers
- Using a bamboo skewer, thread a tomato, basil leaf, mozzarella ball, basil leaf and tomato.
- Once you have made enough caprese skewers for your meal, lightly drizzle the balsamic glaze over the skewers.
