We follow a simple and transparent pricing model:
$9.50 per pound hanging weight + an $80 harvest fee
(Butchering, cut/wrap, and packaging are included.)

We will send your final invoice with hanging weight the week of processing. Remaining payment is due at pickup.

With the purchase of a lamb share, you receive a 10% discount on sheep pelts and the option to have first pick of them when they are available.

2026 Pricing

$9.50 per pound (hanging weight)

Pricing is based on the final hanging weight of your lamb at the processor.

+$80 Processor Kill Fee

This fee is set by the processor and added as a direct pass-through.

Average Hanging Weight:

Approximately 58 pounds
(Your total will vary slightly depending on each lamb.)Example Cost:

How Much Meat Will You Take Home?

You can expect roughly 45–55% of the hanging weight as packaged meat, depending on your cut choices (more bones = higher yield). A typical whole lamb yields a beautiful selection of:

  • Chops
  • Leg roasts
  • Shoulder roasts
  • Ground lamb
  • Ribs
  • Shanks
  • Stew meat (optional)
  • Organ meats (optional)

Cut sheets will be emailed before processing so you can choose your preferred cuts.

Lamb Share Terms & Conditions

Blooming Joy Farm – Northwest Montana

1. Deposit & Reservation

  • A $75 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a lamb share.
  • Reservations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • The deposit may be paid online through our “Pay” tab or mailed by check.

2. Pricing

  • Lamb shares are sold at $9.50 per pound hanging weight, plus an $80 harvest (kill) fee.
  • The total cost varies based on the final hanging weight of your lamb.
  • Final invoices are emailed once hanging weights are received from the processor.

3. Payment

  • Your remaining balance is due at pickup when you receive your packaged lamb.
  • We accept cash, check, or card (if applicable).

4. Processing Date & Pickup

  • All lamb shares will be ready for pickup on Monday, November 30, 2026.
  • Pickup takes place at the processor (or your usual pickup location if you use one).
  • Customers are responsible for picking up their lamb on the scheduled date.
  • Any changes or delays must be communicated directly with Julie at Blooming Joy Farm.

5. Failure to Pick Up

  • If a customer does not pick up their lamb on the designated date and does not make prior arrangements, the lamb may be forfeited.
  • Customers remain financially responsible for their invoice, as processing costs are incurred regardless of pickup.

6. Cancellations

  • Deposits are non-refundable, as we reserve your lamb well in advance.
  • If you need to cancel, your reservation can be transferred to another person of your choosing.

7. Quality Guarantee

  • We guarantee that every lamb is ethically raised, pasture-based, and processed under USDA-inspected conditions.
  • As a small farm, we cannot accept returns of frozen meat, but if anything is not as promised, please reach out—we will always make it right.

8. Communication

  • We stay in touch throughout the season with updates, reminders, and invoices.
  • It is the customer’s responsibility to keep their email address current so they don’t miss important information.

Cuts vary slightly depending on the processor’s standard cut sheet.

Can I request custom cuts?

Yes! If you prefer custom cuts, just let us know before processing day and we’ll give you the cut sheet to choose from.

What if I can’t pick up on the scheduled date?

Please contact Julie ahead of time. If no arrangements are made and the lamb is not picked up, the share may be forfeited.

Do you sell half lamb shares?

At this time, we offer whole lamb shares only, which ensures each customer receives a complete, balanced selection of cuts.

Is the deposit refundable?

No — deposits are non-refundable because we reserve your lamb well in advance. You are welcome to transfer your reservation to someone else if needed.

How soon should I reserve?

Our waiting list continues to grow each year, so we recommend reserving early. Many customers secure their share in January for fall pickup.
